About the Role
SOSi is currently seeking a skilled and dependable Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar. This role is essential in supporting a U.S. Government customer by performing a wide range of maintenance tasks including plumbing, carpentry, sheet metal work, welding, locksmithing, and furniture reconfiguration.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and emergency maintenance, repairs, and renovations across residential and commercial buildings.
- Remodel and retrofit structures made from wood, light gauge metal, drywall, and plaster.
- Troubleshoot plumbing systems, address leaky fixtures, clogged drains, and replace damaged piping components.
- Conduct inspections and coordinate with civil engineers and fellow maintenance professionals.
- Install, repair, and replace furnishings, roofing elements, doors, cabinets, flooring, and more.
- Use blueprints and technical documents to carry out renovations to code and specification.
- Ensure compliance with applicable safety and building regulations.
Minimum Requirements
- Active TS/SCI clearance (mandatory).
- At least 5 years of facility maintenance experience.
- Skilled in plumbing systems, welding, carpentry, and sheet metal work.
- Proficient in using manual and power tools typical in construction and repair trades.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Air Force or Army base protocols and culture.
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions, including high heat and dusty environments.
- Capable of lifting materials over 50 lbs and working in physically demanding settings.
